Volunteer Group Work on Tinker’s Clough

On the 1st September we had 11 KRIV volunteers who were very ably assisted by 5 from the Adelphi Group plus a strange character dressed in waders carrying a fire extinguisher………
We cut back vegetation at the entrance, cleared all the path drains and removed mud from the steps. Mick did a sterling job digging out silt from the stream near the culvert. He also helped remove the pallet and a number of other items of rubbish including a golf club. In all we removed three rubble bags full of smaller rubbish.

Finally we felled the 5 Elm trees identified as dead by Bartletts - and managed to do so without injuring anyone or destroying the bridge. They were cut up and put into habitat piles.

So, a successful day and all 5 from the Adelphi Group really enjoyed their day volunteering.
