WORK IN TINKERS CLOUGH STARTING ON WEDNESDAY 3RD MAY: PLEASE TAKE CARE

Bartlett tree surgeons will be doing some important work in Tinkers Clough starting on Wednesday 3rd May. We hope to keep the Clough open to the public whilst this work is done but please follow the signage and any directions the tree surgeons give. The work could take up to a week to complete, dependent on weather conditions.

Without this work being carried out, we would need to consider closing the Clough to public access.

All the necessary permissions have been received for the work to commence and we've also liaised with the Canal and River Trust given some of the trees in the Clough overhang the canal towpath.

The Clough is privately owned and leased to the Trust who seek to maintain it and make it available for public access. As part of our obligations to maintain public access, we have the trees inspected regularly. Unfortunately, some of the trees, particularly some ash and elm, are diseased and need urgent attention in order to give them the best chance of surviving and continue to ensure the public can safely access this important community space.

The Trust relies on grants and donations in order to keep the Clough open to the public. We are incredibly grateful to Adelphi Communications Ltd, Bollington Town Council, Cutler Cleaning Supplies Ltd and R A Smart who have very generously contributed to support this work - without their help we would have needed to consider closing the Clough.”
