USE OF THE PLAYGROUND CAR PARK AT THE WATER STREET CENTRE

The ground floor of the Water Street Centre is leased to Bollington Preschool by Bollington Initiative Trust (BIT). Both organisations are registered charities. As part of the lease arrangements, Bollington Preschool’s rent includes use of the playground at the rear of the Water Street Centre as a car park. Access to this car park is paid for by the Preschool for use by Water Street Centre users.

In recent months, we have closed off the car park at the end of each working day because of the building work that has been going on to repair and replace the Centre’s roof. During this period, the Trustees of the Preschool have really appreciated how much safer it has been for parents and carers to drop off and collect their children in the car park without the problem of there being additional cars in the parking area. In addition, it has been far less stressful for Preschool staff coming to work knowing that they will be able to park their cars in the morning.

The Trustees of the Preschool and the Trustees of BIT have, therefore, agreed that the current practice of closing the car park each evening will continue. This decision means that the Preschool and other associated Water Street Centre users can access safe and reliable parking and that the car park can be used in keeping with the Preschool’s lease.
